Jennifer Bliman - Principal French Horn
Jennifer Bliman is a classically-trained French horn player who is best known for her whimsical French horn shows. Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Arts from UCLA and Master of Music from USC, both degrees in French Horn Performance.
Jennifer plays in numerous orchestras and bands all over Southern California and is also currently the principal horn player for the San Fernando Valley Symphony Orchestra. Jennifer plays as a studio musician in Los Angeles and has recorded for NBC, ABC, CBS, as well as major motion pictures and commercials. She has played for numerous regional theater productions throughout Los Angeles, having most recently played for Broadway's original Belle in "Beauty and the Beast". She has shared the stage with great artists including Sally Struthers, Robert Goulet, Florence Henderson, Michael York, Shirley Jones, Patrick Cassidy, and Dick Van Dyke. Jennifer has performed featured solos on tour all around the world...But, her favorite performing place will always remain in Anaheim, California when she was a performer at Disneyland.
In 2009, Jennifer began performing a one-woman show in the Royal Room Lounge at the Canoga Bowl in Winnetka, CA, where she would dress in costume and play music to match the theme of the show. Jennifer performs atypical music for the French horn while taking the horn out of its traditional classical setting, so that the music can be appreciated by all audiences. She plays a wide range of music from Broadway showtunes to jazz standards.
Jennifer teaches private lessons for the French horn throughout the West San Fernando Valley to East Ventura County in California and is currently the horn teacher at Moorpark College. She has an extensive amount of students, which range from beginners in elementary school to students at the advanced level in high school, college, and beyond. Jennifer has an extremely positive teaching style where her students learn effectively while having lots of fun!
Jennifer is also an actress having acted in numerous stage productions as well as for national commercials, TV, and film. She is seen with her French horn in the 2009 movie, Fame and the TV show Modern Family. Other credits include Glee, The Mentalist, and Criminal Minds.
